Redrow offers to lend more than a cup of sugar

The distinctive red and white balloon makes floating appearances at balloon fiestas and Redrow developments all over the UK and now, for a limited time only, the developer will let it be used as an extra crowd-pulling prop at a selection of local fundraising events*.
Not only will it make a grand statement but, weather permitting, the balloon can also offer tethered rides giving visitors the best seat in the house. To qualify, the event needs to be taking place between now until the end of September and must be raising funds for a worthwhile cause.
Patsy Aicken, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) says: “This is a great opportunity to make an occasion even more memorable. The balloon can prove to be a great asset to an event and it certainly always draws a lot of interest from visitors. Plus it will be manned by our own team of balloon experts so there will be no extra work for the organisers.
“All people need to do is contact us giving details of what is planned, when it will be happening and how much space is available. As a guide, to offer tethered rides the balloon needs an area that is roughly half the size of a football pitch, level and with vehicular access.
“However we only have a limited number of days allocated so it will be on a first come first serve basis.”
Depending on the location of the event, those choosing to take to the skies in a tethered ride may be able to spot one of Redrow’s current developments in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, which all feature quality-built homes in carefully chosen locations at competitive prices.
The Redrow balloon was built by Shropshire-based Lindstrand Hot Air Balloons, who have created more than 4,500 in total, including the world’s largest.
Redrow also has a couple of exclusive flights available in the balloon, which it is will consider donating to individuals from the area.
Patsy adds: “All people have to do is write in and tell us why they want to fly in the Redrow hot air balloon – perhaps they’re celebrating a special birthday or anniversary – or they can nominate a friend or relative who they think deserves a flight and tell us why. We’re sure there are some really heart warming stories out there.”
To nominate yourself or someone else for a flight or to request the balloon at a planned event, email brief details and a daytime contact number to: balloon@redrow.co.uk.
