Redrow opens its doors for New Homes Week

Redrow opens its doors for New Homes Week To celebrate New Homes Week (September 12-20) Redrow is hosting an ‘open doors’ weekend in Barton upon Humber to show homebuyers the ins and outs of its superb quality homes.

Run by the New Homes Marketing Board, New Homes Week is set to highlight all the benefits that come with owning a brand new property, such as energy efficiency, no expensive renovation costs and easy maintenance.

Redrow has taken the theme a step further and calculated that the cost of bringing an older second hand property up to the same standard as a new Redrow home could be as much as £30,000*, not to mention the huge outlay of time and energy involved.

By contrast, in the homes at Fox’s Fold in Barton everything has already been done for you to a very high standard, with an up to date specification and highly polished finish that is easy to maintain and keep clean. It also carries the added reassurance of a two-year guarantee for any fitted appliances and the National Home-Building Council (NHBC) 10-year ‘Buildmark’ warranty.

Previous research has shown that a brand new home is also up to 40% more efficient than one built at the beginning of the decade, which should also mean lower fuel bills.

And, with recent reports showing a month on month upturn in house prices, now could be just the right time to buy at Fox’s Fold, where the doors of selected properties will be opened to homebuyers over the weekend of September 12th and 13th.

Patsy Aicken, sales manager for Redrow, said: “This weekend will be an opportunity for people thinking about buying a new home to see the first class properties we have available at this stand-out development. It gives them the opportunity to step inside a number of different designs, including two fully furnished show homes, and get a real flavour of what it would be like to live here.

“There are so many overriding benefits to owning a brand new home compared to a second hand property and this event gives potential purchasers the opportunity to see that for themselves instead of just taking our word for it.”

A recent survey by Nationwide found that house prices rose for the third consecutive month in July, up 1.3% on the previous month, indicating that the window of opportunity to pick up the best buys in popular areas could be closing.

This improving trend has also led the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to revise its house price predictions for 2009, with its August update now forecasting that prices at the end of the year will be higher than for the same period last year, as opposed to the 10% drop it had previously predicted.**

Fox’s Fold currently features a selection of two-bedroom homes from £95,950 and four-bedroom detached homes from £159,950.

Part-exchange is available on selected properties, like the four-bedroom Lea, which includes en-suite to master bedroom and a handy utility room off the fully fitted kitchen. Part exchange enables buyers to move quickly and easily without the worry of being stuck
in a housing chain. Subject to criteria, Redrow effectively act as a cash buyer for our
customer’s existing property.

Patsy added: “Barton is a lively town that’s increasingly popular with people from both sides of the Humber. House prices are significantly cheaper than places on the north bank like Brough and Beverley, but home owners get to benefit from life in a friendly market town with genuine character and surrounded by some beautiful countryside.

“There is a good selection of shops, the majority of them locally owned, which gives the high street a quaint and traditional feel, and for families there are three primary schools within a mile of our development.”

The open days takes place between 10am and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, September 12th and 13th. For further details log on to redrow.co.uk/developments/view/165.
