12-year-old James Griffen-Rylatt, whose mum Nicky is a sales adviser at The Chestnuts, Persimmon’s new development in Pype Hayes in Birmingham, is a member of the Binley Young Firefighters Association. The team will be representing the UK in the International Firefighters Games in Sweden in July, one of the most prestigious Young Firefighters Events in the world which has over 36 teams competing, and the youngsters have been tirelessly fundraising for eight months to help fund the trip.

When Dominic heard James’ story, he stepped in with a £2,000 donation which will help the team meet the escalating costs associated with the trip to Sweden. Dominic said: “Our donation has ensured James and the team will be able to travel, participate and represent our country and we wish them the very best of luck”

The Chestnuts can be found on the Tyburn Road. Perfect for commuters and shoppers alike, the development is ideally situated for the A38 which enables direct access to Birmingham city centre which is around five miles away, the M6 and M42. Local amenities are plentiful – the Fort Shopping Park is close by, there’s a 24-hour supermarket in proximity and the area is served by good schools. Homes on release are currently priced from £145,000.
