the Persimmon Team Hot on the heels of being crowned ‘Best Housebuilder’ in the Variety Club’s Midland Property Awards, Wolverhampton-based Persimmon has scooped yet another top accolade, this time for its exceptional Health & Safety procedures.

The Wolverhampton-based housebuilder has fought off stiff competition from Persimmon’s 36-strong group of regional companies to win the internal 2006 Construction Activities Audit, scoring a near perfect 99.5 per cent for demonstrating outstanding Health & Safety practices.

Persimmon’s Health & Safety procedures were extensively audited throughout the year. Staff at its regional office at Ventura Business Park were assessed and site managers, contracts managers and surveyors working at each of its 17 developments across the West Midlands region were regularly reviewed and inspected to ensure on site Health & Safety practices complied with the Persimmon Group’s stringent policies.

Commenting, John Dowling, health and safety manager for Persimmon’s West Midlands region, said: “It’s down to the sheer commitment demonstrated by all members of staff throughout the West Midlands region that has seen the Health & Safety shield come to Wolverhampton.

“We are extremely proud of our first class Health & Safety credentials and we hope we retain the winning title for many more years to come.”

Persimmon Homes West Midlands is currently creating a number of new communities across the region with sites in Atherstone, Cannock, Cape Hill, Great Wyrley, Lichfield, Rugeley, Shifnal, Stourbridge, Tamworth, Telford, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
