Trip can’t tempt couple from Streetly
Anyone who reserved a property at Poet’s Wood in January was entered into the draw and Matt and Tracy were particularly lucky, as they only put their names down in the last weekend of the month.
But shortly after winning the prize the pair found out that Tracy was pregnant with their first child and graciously gave the trip away, to Matt’s brother Daniel and his friend Mike Webb.
And while Daniel and Mike jet across the big pond to New York, Matt and Tracy, will be preparing their new three-bedroom terraced home for their new arrival.
Matt, a facilities manager for Network Rail, and Tracy, a finance manager for Reliance Security, moved into the property four weeks ago and are enjoying life at Poet’s Wood.
Matt said: “People are still moving into the estate but already it is like a little community.
“We are doing up the nursery at the moment and it is an exciting time for both of us, with the new house and our first baby.”
Generous Matt and Tracy will even be dropping Daniel and Mike off at the airport, when they head for New York.
Matt said: “We will give them a lift and make sure they get off okay and I will be making sure he brings us a good present back.”
Julie Chapman, Redrow area sales manager, said: “I am glad to see that Matt and Tracy are settling in to Poet’s Wood and would like to congratulate them on their happy news.
“Hopefully their new home will help make up for missing the trip. Set in a leafy suburb of Birmingham, this development offers buyers the best of both worlds, with countryside escapes, and the amenities of the city both nearby.”
Poet’s Wood, which features one and two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached houses, is on the doorstep of Sutton Park, a national nature reserve that covers 2,400 acres and offers a selection of family activities.
It is perfectly located for easy access to Birmingham city centre, which offers excellent entertainment, nightlife and amenities, including the iconic Bullring shopping complex, and has excellent motorway links to the M42 and M6.
Two-bedroom apartments are currently available from £145,950 and house prices start at £174,950 for a two-bedroom mid-terraced property.
