The key to a new family home at Squire’s Lock in Willenhall

20th August 2007 Print
Shelburne lounge Barratt West Midlands, the award winning house developer, has unlocked a stylish new three-bedroom home at its development on the edge of Willenhall. Modern space and flexible accommodation often come at a price, but at Squire’s Lock, that price is more affordable than most.

The Shelburne three bedroom terraced house is beautifully designed but balanced with an inherent practicality and style. Modern materials have been used throughout this charming home which includes a more formal lounge and contemporary open plan kitchen and dining area.

Priced from £172,000, the Shelburne is perfect for modern family life with generous accommodation thoughtfully designed over two floors. The ground floor features a spacious family lounge and a high quality open plan fitted kitchen/diner with cooker, hob and extractor. The feeling of light and space is enhanced by the addition of French doors leading onto the garden. A downstairs loo provides another family essential!

On the second floor is the master bedroom with en-suite and a further two bedrooms with a family sized modern bathroom.

David Child, sales director for Barratt West Midlands, says: “The Shelburne is such a stylish house and at this price it’s ideal for couples looking for that perfect first family home and a great way of getting on to the property ladder.”

The Shelburne comes with all the extras you would expect from a brand new home, including easy maintenance PVCu double glazed windows - which will help to keep the bills down - energy efficient central heating, as well as the reassurance of being covered by the NHBC’s 10-year Buildmark warranty.

The development name ‘Squire’s Lock’ has interesting origins. The site was, until last year, home to the offices and factory of Henry Squire & Sons Ltd who had occupied the site for 225 years. William Squire began making locks and was then joined by his son, Thomas. By the 19th century the demand for locks increased significantly but the company had used all its available land to build new factory space. Squire brought an adjacent three acre field on which a new factory was built to supply the high demand. Now located in Featherstone, the company is still a large employer in the area.

For further information on all the properties available at the development, situated on Litchfield Road, Willenhall, visit the sales office and show homes which are open daily from 11am to 6pm.
