£213 million homes boost for West Midlands

They are also the lead developers at the former Wordsley Hospital site in Dudley. Work is also due to commence at Wenlock Road in Bridgnorth, shortly and a major part of land at Ward Street in Wolverhampton has also been purchased.
Spanning a total of more than 86 acres and with a combined gross development value worth in excess of £213 million, the new sites will incorporate a mix of properties from Persimmon’s extensive property portfolio.
Dominic Harman, managing director for Persimmon Homes West Midlands said: “Starting construction on such a substantial number of plots continues the growth of our business and is a major achievement for us. This significant investment is further evidence of the confidence we have in the West Midlands new homes market.
“We still find that demand for new homes throughout the region remains strong, employment remains stable and these new sites will come as welcome news for local house hunters.
“We want to make sure that we maintain and continue to strengthen our market share across the region. However, this can only be achieved by continually investing in the right sites when they become available. All of these new developments are situated in prime residential locations, we are expecting great success from them.
“These new additions will take us to 20 active developments across the region, which is the highest number of outlets we have ever had in the West Midlands.”
Persimmon Homes West Midlands is currently creating new communities in Wolverhampton, Atherstone, Cannock, Cape Hill, Great Wyrley, Lichfield, Rugeley, Shifnal, Stourbridge, Tamworth, Telford and Walsall.
