Confidence high according to Persimmon

4th October 2007 Print
Confidence high according to Persimmon Leading property experts in the West Midlands have reported a healthy start to the second half of 2007 in both interest levels and sales, flying in the face of opinion from some quarters that the UK housing market has slowed - news that should encourage purchasers, in particular, first time buyers who are crucial to the entire buying process.

Low interest rates, extremely competitively priced homes and a range of enticing incentives to help get buyers on the move are contributing factors that prove that when it comes to property, according to Persimmon, now is the time to buy!

“Conflicting news about the property market may have unnerved some potential purchasers, but the reality is that we are experiencing a demand for new homes from people who need to take that next step” comments Anita Williams, sales and marketing director for Persimmon’s West Midlands region.

This report comes hot on the heels of Persimmon Homes’ record interim results which for the six months to 30th June totalled £281.1m. Anita continues: “Despite reports of a slowdown, we are pleased to say that confidence in the new homes market is still high and we are currently selling in excess of ten properties every week across our portfolio of developments, in line with the same time last year.”

Persimmon has been quick to recognise peoples concerns regarding interest rates, and has devised a two-year mortgage subsidy deal worth £500 per month, totalling £12,000, to help allay any fears would-be-buyers may have. Anita continues: ”We are committed to help make the moving process as easy and stress free as possible for anyone in region - not only does the mortgage subsidy deal provide buyers with complete peace of mind for two whole years, it also enables them to spend their new found surplus funds on the things they need, restoring the good feel factor which buying a new dream home should bring.”

Persimmon knows that no two home buyers are the same which is why the company works hard to design tailor-made packages to suit individual circumstances. First time buyers for example may choose to take advantage of the housebuilders’ shared equity incentive, or for those with a property to sell, the company’s Part Exchange deal may prove beneficial. Plus, if a buyer’s existing home requires a Home Information Pack (HIP), Persimmon will organise that too

Anita concludes: “Through understanding that all house hunters have very different needs, we are able to help them find, buy and move into their dream home, with the minimum of hassle and expense.

“Anyone who’s looking for guidance and advice regarding the property market and home moving process should pay a visit to any one of our developments across the region where our sales advisers are on hand to share their knowledge and expertise”

Persimmon Homes West Midlands is currently building in Telford, Erdington, Edgbaston, Wolverhampton, Shifnal, Rugeley, Smethwick, Cannock, Stourbridge, Lichfield, Great Wyrley, Tamworth, Newport and Warstock.
