Now is the time to buy a new home

16th April 2008 Print
Now is the moment to buy a new home, says Anita Williams of Britain's most successful housebuilder Persimmon Homes. Now you could argue that Ms Williams might be slightly biased but there is credible evidence to suggest that now is an ideal time to buy a new home.

Recent reports regarding lending may have unnerved a number of potential purchasers however the message from leading industry experts in the West Midlands is that buyers can use this market to their distinct advantage.

Whilst it may come as a surprise, people with a good credit history, deposit and reasonable income can still get great mortgages, as Bob Neill, director at Mortgage Bureau, explains: "Contrary to reports, there are still attractive mortgage deals available however you do need to move quickly to get them.

"This news, coupled with the fact that the Bank of England has reduced the interest rate by 0.25 per cent to five per cent, should come as a sigh of relief for anyone considering buying for the first time or those looking to make the next move up the property ladder."

Anita Williams, Persimmon's sales and marketing director, continues: "A low, stable, interest rate, extremely competitively priced properties and developers that want to sell means it's clearly a buyers market. This together with incentives like Part Exchange frees up the ability to move quickly."

Indeed, Persimmon has a range of incentives geared towards helping specific sectors of the market such as Shared Equity for first time buyers to Sale Seeker for those with a property to sell.

The message is clear - whatever your budget, circumstance or requirement, there's a new home, a deal and informed advice available to get you on the move - three key factors that should certainly help boost consumer confidence. It is encouraging to see the good feel factor returning - about time too!

Persimmon Homes West Midlands is currently building new homes in Telford, Erdington, Edgbaston, Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Darlaston, Tipton, Walsall, Rugeley, Smethwick, Cannock, Stourbridge, Lichfield, Tamworth, Newport and Yardley Wood.
