Barratt offers low cost living at Kensington Gardens

Barratt, in conjunction with Birmingham City Council, has launched a new low-cost housing scheme which has been designed to assist local homebuyers onto the property ladder by offering them the opportunity to buy a brand new two-bedroom apartment at Kensington Gardens at £90,895, representing a discount of 70 per cent off the market value.
David Child, Sales Director for Barratt said, "There is a real shortage of affordable homes in the UK today so it is very important for us to be able to offer these apartments at such a significant discount. It means that those who may otherwise struggle to get a foot onto the property ladder will be able to make the dream of home ownership a reality, whilst still owning 100 per cent of the property.
"These apartments are perfect for a first home, buyers have the chance to move straight in without having to worry about maintenance or DIY, meaning they are able to concentrate on enjoying their beautiful new home.
"This is not a shared ownership scheme, homebuyers own 100 per cent of the property and there is no rent to pay on the remaining 30 per cent, nor does it have to be paid back at a later date. However the property must remain at the same percentage discount off the market value for all future re-sales to ensure that there is a good supply of low cost homes for years to come."
Only three low cost two-bedroom apartments remain. The Bromwich type B apartments comprise open plan living and dining room, separate fully fitted kitchen, two spacious bedrooms and a stylish bathroom. There is currently a Bromwich show apartment open at Kensington Gardens which is available for viewing.
To be eligible for the scheme purchasers must already live or work in Birmingham and single purchasers must earn less than £25,000 or less than £40,000 for joint purchasers.
Kensington Gardens is situated just four miles South East of Birmingham city centre and its excellent selection of shops and amenities such as the Bullring and Mailbox shopping centres. The development is also well catered for with good access to the M42 and M6, making it an ideal base for those who need to travel to other areas of the West Midlands and UK.
Kensington Gardens comprises one, two, three, four and six-bedroom apartments and houses. For more information log on to Barratthomes.co.uk/kensingtongardens.
