Barratt launches new development in Stourport-on-Severn Stourport's disused canal basin is being transformed into a brand new development of over 140 waterside homes by housebuilder Barratt West Midlands. To be named Water's Edge, this new development is located around Lichfield basin and on a disused industrial site, helping to regenerate the area into a peaceful community of 144 waterside homes.

The four-acre site will offer a range of one- and two-bedroom apartments and two- three- and four-bedroom townhouses. So far the development has seen the former Sail House converted into apartments while the rest of the homes are brand new. Currently the Sail House is being used as the marketing suite for the development.

David Child, Sales Director for Barratt commented, "Officially unveiled to the public at the beginning of the month (April), Water's Edge is a beautiful new development situated alongside the banks of the River Severn, making it the perfect place to relax after a long day at work.

"Waterside living holds many benefits for residents. From the abundance of wildlife and leisure activities it provides to the ability to help alleviate stress, not to mention the fantastic views. Plus waterside properties are often a sound investment as they remain highly desirable and rarely shift in value, so they always make an excellent choice for a new home.

"There is a great selection of homes available at Water's Edge, including some properties with dual aspect balconies to the river and to the basin. The development has already proven very popular with a range of homebuyers, from couples and families to those looking for a second home in Stourport. Four reservations have already been secured since opening, all on homes with views to the water, so homebuyers should visit the development now in order to secure their preferred plot."

Water's Edge is excellently located just a few minutes walk from the centre of Stourport which offers a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, whilst Kidderminster is only four miles and Worcester just 13 miles away.

The first of the homes are expected to be ready to move into in July 2008. Prices start from £154,750. For more information log on to Barratthomes.co.uk/watersedge.
