Homebuyers get a head start with Barratt

4th July 2008 Print
Homebuyers get a head start with Barratt Thanks to Barratt West Midlands' popular Head Start initiative, one lucky homebuyer now has the chance to purchase plot 70, a two-bedroom Langley style apartment for an initial layout of just £113,656 at its Canal Walk development on Halesowen Road in Netherton.

Normally priced at £140,750, this apartment is now available to buy with a £21,112 interest free loan thanks to Head Start which allows homebuyers to purchase 100 per cent of the property for just 85 per cent of the price. Barratt will then pay the five per cent deposit on the property which means that this apartment is available to buy for just £113,656.

David Child, Sales Director for Barratt commented, "Head Start is a fantastic initiative which allows purchasers to buy a home for just 85 per cent of the price, whilst still owning all of the property. It has been specifically designed for first-time buyers and key workers who might otherwise find it a struggle to get a foot onto the property ladder and to help out further, we will even pay the five per cent deposit.

"This is, however, only available for a limited time, so purchasers wanting to take advantage of this deal should visit Canal Walk and register their interest today in order to avoid disappointment."

Head Start is not a shared ownership scheme, homebuyers own 100 per cent of the property from day one. There is no rent or interest to pay on the remaining 15 per cent, the deferred amount is simply paid back as 15 per cent of the properties open market value up to the point of resale or within 10 years, whichever is sooner.

Canal Walk is situated alongside the banks of Dudley Canal, providing secluded rural pathways and a variety of wildlife making it ideal for those looking for a quiet place to relax after a long day at work. The development is also ideally located close to Dudley town centre which is just over a mile away, whilst Birmingham city centre is only 11 miles from the development.

The Langley style, two-bedroom apartment comprised living/dining room, separate kitchen, en-suite to the master bedroom, second double bedroom and main bathroom.

Canal Walk offers two-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom houses. Prices start from £130,000. For more information log on to Barratthomes.co.uk/canalwalk-westmidlands.
