Site manager at Edenside is best in the business

A Barratt site manager from the West Midlands has been named the divisional ‘Site Manager of the Year' for his hard work at the housebuilder's Edenside development on Elwell Street in Wedensbury. This internal award sees managers across all 24 of Barratt's developments in the West Midlands, marked on certain criteria ranging from quality, to health and safety to the paperwork.

The title is awarded on a monthly and quarterly basis, with one of the winners of the most quarterly award being named ‘Site manager of the Year' and progressing to Barratt's regional and then nationwide competition.

The team at Edenside is headed by site manager Jamie Bishop, who last year won an NHBC (National House Building Council) Supreme Award in the large builder category. This is the highest accolade of its kind with over 18,000 site managers across the country initially entered into the competition. This year Jamie has already won a ‘Seal of Excellence' Pride in the Job award from the NHBC, putting him in the running for his second Supreme Award.

Jamie commented, "It is a great achievement to have been named site manager of the year and everyone is thrilled to have won. Our directors expect the highest standards and quality of work and so it is a great achievement to have won this award as it demonstrates that we are performing to, and exceeding these standards.

"My thanks go to Bob Jarvis the Assistant Site Manager, everyone on site and all of our contractors who have truly pulled together to ensure that we can be awarded this title and it is a fantastic reward for all the hard work they have put in not only this year, but everyday that they are out on site."
