Smethwick show home is the height of good taste!

Smethwick show home is the height of good taste! George Wimpey West Midlands have come up with a scheme “good enough to eat” at its flagship Victoria Gardens development on the former North site of the famous Cape Hill Brewery in Smethwick, Birmingham!

The new-style Brecon showhome offers a delicious warm, vanilla cream throughout, but is punctuated by splashes of brilliant strawberry red for immediate and lasting impact. It’s also highly stylised and has the look and feel of a contemporary boutique hotel that manages to be both glamorous and gorgeously comfortable.

Lucy Wilson of interior design specialists ShowBusiness explains: “The spot red signature pieces add a welcome surprise to the blank canvas of each room, but although it’s sexy and provocative it’s also soft and accessible. We’ve also utilised very sleek Italian furniture in chrome, glass and leather and although the look is crisp and classy, it’s still cosy and inviting – indeed the wool upholstery is very indulgent and some of the furniture is feather-filled for added luxury. This shade of red also conjures up images of Japan and mixed with the cream creates a Zen-like feeling of calm around the home. Red lacquered pieces and mirrored furniture, meanwhile, add sophisticated touches that give the feeling of getting away from it all without leaving your own home.”

Michelle Davies, sales manager for George Wimpey, adds: “Whilst the look we’ve achieved is very stylised, it’s also very simple, because homebuyers are becoming more sophisticated and want clean, practical lines rather than fuss and clutter. We’re increasingly ‘cash rich but time poor’ in today’s fast moving society and the new Victoria Gardens scheme is all about maximum enjoyment and minimum effort.”

So, be inspired by this deceptively spacious three bedroom, three storey mews home with garage, which has a master bedroom, with private en-suite, up in the heavens that features dormer windows, sloping ceilings and enchanting roof lights. Bedrooms two and three, plus a family bathroom, make up the first floor, while an inviting hall, designer kitchen/breakfast room and characterful lounge with French doors opening out onto the rear garden are ground level. There are also three WCs in this delightfully practical family home – one on each floor!

This select development is made up of 23 one/two bedroom designer apartments, 16 two bedroom, two and a half storey homes, 18 three bedroom semi and mews homes plus 11 four bedroom homes – and all the initial properties released on Phase 1 (the coach house excepted) will have their own garage. Business is already brisk and far and little wonder - with three bedroom semi detached homes with garage from only £154,995 and four bedroom versions from just £164,995.

A mixture of roof heights and storey heights will provide varied and interesting street scenes and while the houses will reflect the local red brick and tiles, the contemporary apartments will utilise cutting edge materials for extra standout. Areas of open space are also proposed within the development to retain a sense of open expanse and softening to the build form – and these green pockets will provide character and further improve the quality of the public realm.

In short, Victoria Gardens fully embraces the Government’s urban design vision of ‘continuity’ (a place where public and private space are clearly distinguishable), ‘legibility’ (a place that has a clear image and is easy to understand), ‘commutability’ (somewhere that’s easy to get to and move through), ‘adaptability’ (a place that can easily change) and ‘diversity’ (somewhere with variety and choice).

Homebuyers can also take advantage of a host of time, money and hassle savers that will help get a move on – like free furniture packages and removal services, parental assisted mortgages, landscaped rear gardens, free carpets and ceramics throughout, shared equity packages, plus schemes whereby George Wimpey West Midlands sell your existing property for you and also take care of the estate agents, HIPS, removals and solicitors – as well as paying all their fees.

The entrance to Victoria Gardens is just off Cape Hill (A4092), which is a major route within the area and leads to the main shopping area to the west and onto Dudley Road (A457) to the east.

So, get the ‘red carpet’ treatment from George Wimpey West Midlands by visiting the new showhome, which is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am - 5pm.
