Planners give Lichfield a Pulse
David Wilson Mercia has received the green light for Pulse - a new development of luxury homes at the exclusive location of the former Victoria Hospital site in Lichfield. The hosebuilder's application was given a clean bill of health by Lichfield District Council's Planning Committee, which recently gave its seal of approval for 61 homes, including one- and two-bedroom apartments and three-, four- and five-bedroom houses for the site off Friary Road.
With the start date for building at Pulse scheduled for July 2009, David Wilson Homes will be the heartbeat of brand new homes in the city throughout the year and into 2010. And house hunters can expect to get their first glimpse of this beautiful and exciting scheme situated close to the city centre in January 2010.
Residents of the Staffordshire city are also set to benefit from a huge contribution from the housebuilder to local amenities and facilities. With a £213,000 contribution to education, £242,000 to highways and £120,000 to community provision, the future looks bright for the local community thanks to Pulse.
Furthermore, the David Wilson development will bring extra affordable housing to the city, as the Council's planning requirements have stipulated that 25 per cent of the development be earmarked for homebuyers looking for a property which meets their budgeting needs.
Chris Ashmore, Sales Director for David Wilson Mercia, said, "This is a really exciting development for us as it is in such a great location close to the city centre. What is more, Pulse will cater for buyers of all sorts on budgets of all types, including families, young professionals and first-time buyers.
"Lichfield is a beautiful place to live as it is so rich with heritage and culture - it boasts the only Medieval cathedral in the country with three spires. The new Garrick Theatre has some fantastic productions and the city offers great rail links to Birmingham and London, as well as easy access to other Staffordshire towns and the West Midlands, Derbyshire and the central motorway network."
