Sandwell house-type bucks trend in West Bromwich

Sandwell house-type bucks trend in West Bromwich George Wimpey West Midlands sold a record seven new homes at it's Wesley Gardens site on Bank Street, West Bromwich, in the last two weeks of 2008! What's more, they were all the same housetype - the four bedroom Sandwell with two bathrooms, garage and a spacious kitchen dining room that is the heart of this ideal family home.

There is only one Sandwell left now and just eight on the whole development, which is made up of 125 new homes in total and is a flagship £17 million regeneration scheme.

Sales & marketing director, Carol Edwards explains: "We certainly enjoyed a surge of activity up to and beyond Christmas as homebuyers took advantage of a host of financial incentives and realistic pricing levels. Indeed, as a region, we've already sold 12 properties in just the first week and a half of 2009 and I remain cautiously optimistic because the desire to buy a new build home is still obviously there.

"It will be undeniably tough this year, but the West Midlands housing market continues to be supported by an underlying shortage of supply and the recent considerable reductions in mortgage interest rates should also help with consumer confidence in what is definitely a buyer's market. And as we're enduring the coldest part of the winter, customers are increasingly aware that new homes are, on average, four times as energy efficient as their Victorian counterparts, plus they're ready to live in straight away (no renovations or amateur decorating to put right) and require minimal maintenance and upkeep."

Wesley Gardens builds on the previous Wesley Park development nearby and continues the long standing tradition of George Wimpey West Midlands in West Bromwich. Quite a few sales have been to families from the Wesley Park development completed a few years ago - who like the area but want to trade up. Last availability at Wesley Gardens includes three bedroom mews homes with garage and garden from just £134,995 and a four bedroom Sandwell for only £157,995. The chic Madrid two bedroom show apartment is newly available (including carpets and curtains throughout) for just £118.995.

These final properties all have great views over the area of public open space that fronts the whole of one end of the development - which will act as a focal point and congregation area for locals already big on community spirit.

George Wimpey West Midlands is also building locally at Victoria Gardens in Smethwick (a prestigious new development of 68 premier homes recently opened on the former North site of the famous Cape Hill Brewery), St Peter's Walk in Springfield, Wolverhampton (a timely regeneration of the old Chubb factory site on Wednesfield Road, now over 90% sold) and Lawnswood Ride in Stourbridge, which is located on the site of the historic Wordsley Hospital - parts of which are being restored and retained.

Next week (19/01/09) the company is also launching its biggest ever promotion called Cheque This Out!. Whether you're a first time buyer, moving to accommodate a growing family, downsizing to a smaller property or looking to buy as an investment, there is an option to get you moving.

Created in the style of a chequebook, the promotion offers a package of special vouchers and incentives. These include a mortgage subsidy, guaranteed rental, double your deposit, shared equity schemes, part exchange, stamp duty paid and free home removal service amongst others. Buyers will even have the opportunity to redeem a one off golden voucher that entitles them to up to £17,500 off the purchase price of their new home. These offers will run until 14th February.
