Developer bucks the trend Despite the well documented housing slump, Developer Crest Nicholson has bucked the trend and recorded a surge in new homes sales. The award winning home builder has sold 90 properties between January and April, an impressive increase on the same period last year.

And, in response to the rising confidence in the market, the company is now preparing to release more properties to prospective buyers.

One development benefiting from an impressive array of quality built homes is Bishops Gate in Wylde Green.

Set on Birmingham Road, Bishops Gate comprises a range of spacious family homes with four-bedroom properties available from £279,950.

Wylde Green has something for everyone from families and professionals to older people looking for a more relaxed pace of life.

Sutton Coldfield's centre, home to dozens of shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities, is less than two miles away. And the vibrant centre of Birmingham city centre is just eight miles away.

Nearby Moor Hall Hotel has a luxurious leisure centre and spa and for golf fans there is the Belfry Hotel, which has hosted the Ryder Cup. The area is ideal for golfing with the Walmley Golf Club in Wylde Green itself, two clubs in Sutton Park and one at Moor Hall.

Elsewhere, Sutton Coldfield has many parks offering the opportunity for walks and outdoor sports and the largest is Sutton Park with more than 2,000 acres of heath and wetlands with lakes, as well as restaurants, a children's play area and a donkey sanctuary.

And families will be pleased to learn that the area is home to a number of renowned schools.

To view the new show home visit the development on Birmingham Road, Wylde Green open daily from 10am to 5pm.
