13 is life changing for part exchange couple

Zoe (30) and Daniel (34) Moseley, with their nine-year-old son Daniel and 11-month-old daughter Ava, bought one of the Wroxhall homes at the housebuilder’s Great Wyrley development on Holly Lane. Having previously owned a two-bedroom house in Bloxwich, the couple had never dreamed they would be able to afford to take such a big leap up the ladder to a four-bedroom property.
Yet on Friday 13th March, the family of four moved into their dream home at plot 13 – a lucky and happy coincidence considering Daniel and Zoe had originally visited the development only to find out more about the part exchanged homes David Wilson had for sale. Previously the couple were beginning to feel disheartened by their attempts to sell their former home in the current market, but this took a turn when in just seven days they were told that the housebuilder would purchase their old home in part exchange for the brand new Wroxhall.
Daniel, said, “Our old home was simply way too small for us when Ava, our daughter, came along. We didn’t think we could afford to buy new so we set our sights on an older part exchange home – we were absolutely thrilled when we found out that the brand new Wroxhall, which we had seen at the nearby Poppyfields development in Walsall, was within our range.
“Our old home was built in the early 90s and although we had looked at older properties this time around, when we saw the showhome version of our house we fell in love with it. The fact that everything is done and ready for you to move is just such a pull and we didn’t have to worry about any DIY – I am a carpenter by trade so that’s the last thing I want to do when I come home from work.”
The couple both say that David Wilson’s home exchange scheme made everything possible and Zoe added, “Without that we couldn’t have done it - the sales negotiator was so helpful nothing was too much trouble for her to do for us. On top of the exchange we were offered a big discount off the house price and our legal fees and the cost of the move were paid for.
“The location is also a big factor – living in Great Wyrley you are living in a semi rural spot surrounded by green countryside, but at the same time everything in the West Midlands is so easy to reach. Our son, Daniel, goes to school just around the corner from Washbrook Gardens, I work in Walsall and my husband’s head office is in Great Wyrley so we couldn’t be better placed if we tried.”
Chris Ashmore, Sales Director for David Wilson Mercia, said, “It is great to see our home exchange scheme really working and making a difference to people. More so than ever, in the current climate, it has proved to be the pulse that has kept many people’s dreams of a move to a new home alive. And I am glad it proved to be a lifeline for the Moseleys.
“They, like many other people, have picked out the key factors as so why Washbrook Gardens is so appealing. It is semi rural, with the benefit of being within close reach to the towns and cities of the West Midlands. That means a commute to work never has to be an ordeal and the entertainment within the area can easily be reached.”
Washbrook Gardens is situated on Holly Lane in Great Wyrley and currently offers two-bedroom apartments and four- and six-bedroom homes priced from £120,750. For further information, log on to Dwh.co.uk/washbrookgardens.
