Savvy buyer grabs off-plan deal in Streetly

When the doors opened at George Wimpey’s new Kingsland Grange development in Streetly, Sutton Coldfield, Claire Rollason was at the front of the queue to make sure she didn’t miss out on a brilliant deal.

The 28-year-old teacher at Wylde Green Primary School lives with her parents near Blackwood Park, not far from the development, and is now eagerly awaiting the arrival of moving in day.

“I had decided that the time was right for me to buy a place of my own, and having saved up a reasonable deposit, started to look at new homes on the internet,” says Claire.

Quick-off-the-mark Claire arrived five minutes before the doors to the Sales Centre opened for the first time, and her promptness certainly paid off – she secured a great off-plan deal on a two-bedroom ‘Douglas’ house, with George Wimpey adding an extra 5% to the deposit she had saved, helped pay her solicitors’ fees and provided free mortgage advice.

“I’m delighted with my new home and very pleased that I got in quick,” adds Claire.

“I had the choice of the homes available, and so my house has a lovely south-facing garden and land to the side which gives it an extra sense of space, and the additional deposit money from George Wimpey made a big difference to what I could afford – it’s a really helpful deal for first-time buyers.

“Because I bought my house off-plan, it’s being built right now, and every day I pass the development I can see it rising up brick by brick! It’s very exciting to see your first home being built, and I’m really looking forward to moving in later in the year.”

Claire was one of nine purchasers who have secured their home early at Kingsland Grange, snapping up more than half of the 2009 collection of homes at the development in the first ten weeks.

Customers keen to pick up an off-plan deal can still do so, with a selection of homes available to reserve now including the three-bedroom ‘Chester’ priced from only £182,500 and the family-sized five-bedroom ‘Ashbury’ and ‘Linford’ houses starting at just £399,995.

By choosing a home off-plan, customers can secure their new place at today’s prices, and as the property market and competition for houses hots up, can rest assured that their reservation is guaranteed without fear of it being ‘gazumped’ by another buyer.
