Birmingham is a hot spot for bank of mom and dad Research just released by online search engine propertylive.co.uk has revealed that out of 20 university towns and cities, Birmingham ranks as one of the top property hot spots for parents looking to buying a good investment for their children.

The report found that the annual income earned from letting a second bedroom in a two - bedroom flat more than covered the additional mortgage repayments.

One development in Birmingham where there has been an increase in parents buying for their student children is Park Central, a Crest Nicholson Regeneration scheme. With a number of universities within close proximity to Park Central, including the University of Birmingham and Birmingham City University, the development is proving to be a good investment in the current market.

Chris Warner, Sales & Marketing Director Crest Nicholson Regeneration Ltd., comments:

“We are currently offering some fantastic investment opportunities at Park Central, with starting prices from £126,950 for a two bedroom apartment. We have seen many parents buying while prices are attractive and, in almost all cases, parents are discovering that purchasing a property can work out as a more cost effective option to renting while their children are studying. Properties at award-winning Park Central are low maintenance and are an ideal investment opportunity, meaning that helping children get on the property ladder in the current climate is a winning situation for both parents and children.”

Situated to the south west of the city centre, Park Central is a new residential-led community set around eight acres of public landscaped parkland. The Mailbox shopping centre is minutes away on foot, as are the canal side bars and restaurants of Brindleyplace and the entertainment heart of the city, Broad Street.

Crest Nicholson has a selection of contemporary one bedroom apartments currently available at Park Central, priced from just £99,950, with two bedroom apartments available from £126,950. A range of luxury two bedroom duplexes are available from £167,000 and a two bedroom terrace house from £170,000.

The Park Central marketing suite is open daily from 10am to 5pm and is located at Park Central, 2 Mason Way, Birmingham, B15 2EY.
