House hunters declare their independence

House hunters declare their independence A fabulous Fourth of July event at the new Latimer Square development in Oldbury saw dozens of visitors come along to see the brand new homes – with one lucky customer grabbing a superb on-the-day deal with George Wimpey, and declaring their independence from the potential hassle of home-buying.

The special event – which included entertainment from cheerleaders, American-themed food and drinks and a Budweiser raffle – marked the launch of the two new showhomes at the development, giving people the opportunity to see inside the beautiful three-bedroom ‘Croxton’ home and the family-sized four-bedroom detached ‘Draycott’.

Each has been decorated by professional interior designers, complete with sumptuous soft furnishings and stylish finishing touches.

The ‘Draycott’, for example, features a spacious living room, a well-proportioned and separate dining room and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the master bedroom benefits from en-suite facilities, while three further bedrooms are served by a main bathroom, and outside there is a single garage.

The ‘Draycott’ design is available from £215,000, and like all new homes at the development, it is completed to a high standard specification including central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood.

Four-bedroom houses at Latimer Square start at just £209,995 and three-bedroom homes are priced from £179,995.

Househunters interested in making their move to the development can take advantage of incentives for first-time buyers and George Wimpey’s easymover programme, through which customers with a house to sell can reserve their new home and then sit back and relax while the housebuilder helps to find a buyer for their current property.

Incentives can be tailored to homebuyers’ circumstances and are subject to availability. Further details are available from the Sales Executive.

Oldbury town centre, which is less than a mile from Latimer Square, blends traditional architecture with modern design. The central square, and the waterways and rail which arrived with the Industrial Revolution, add a vibrancy and style to this Black Country town. The canals are now used for pleasure boats and fishing, while a superb range of shops and restaurants occupy many of the striking, red-brick buildings.

The area is also home to a choice of schools for children of all ages, and for commuters, the M5 is a five-minute drive from the development and Langley Green Railway Station is less than two miles away.

The showhomes and Sales Centre at Latimer Square are now open Thursday to Monday, 11am to 5pm, and are located off Summerton Road, Oldbury.

Information on George Wimpey developments across the region is available by visiting the website at Georgewimpey.co.uk.
