Sky’s the limit for Birmingham super student

The 17-year old student at Kings Norton Sixth Form College enjoyed an exclusive ride in Redrow Homes’ very own hot air balloon after her father, Geoff, nominated his daughter in a competition organised by the award-winning housebuilder.
Redrow asked people to write in and explain why they or someone they knew deserved a ride in the striking red and white balloon. They received a good response, but Amy’s story was among those that impressed the judges most.
She took to the skies with her pen pal Benedicte, who is visiting from the South of France, to achieve a life long dream that matched the impressive exam results she achieved last year. Amy, whose family live in Northfield, South Birmingham said: “When my dad heard about the competition he immediately wanted to enter and nominate me for the prize as he was so proud of my results.
“We flew over the countryside of Kidderminster, which was beautiful, and took in all of the sights and sounds. It was a fun experience that both Benedicte and I will never forget, especially the landing which was a bit bumpy but very funny, as I fell out of the basket!”
Amy’s home town of Birmingham is also home to two Redrow developments, Jupiter in the city centre and Hemisphere, in Edgbaston. Both offer a fine array of contemporary apartments that fortunately come without the sky-high prices
Redrow’s balloon flies at balloon fiestas and events all over the UK. It was built by Shropshire-based Lindstrand Hot Air Balloons, who have created more than 4,500 hot air balloons, including the worlds largest.
