A place of your own at The City in Coventry

16th September 2009 Print
A place of your own at The City in Coventry As the final phase of apartments is launched at The City, George Wimpey’s popular development of new homes in Coventry, first-time buyers can now own a place of their own from only £64,397*.

This great opportunity to leap onto the property ladder for less sees the leading house-builder team up with Government HomeBuy agent Orbit First Step – but only available on the final homes now on sale at the development, potential purchasers are urged to hurry before they sell out.

Using the Government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme, qualifying customers with a combined household income of less than £60,000 can get on the first rung of the property ladder by reducing their mortgage by up to 30%, but they still own 100% of the property. The Government’s contribution is interest-free for five years and then capped at a low interest rate for 25 years.

By visiting the development, would-be homeowners can also receive free independent financial advice to help them find the right mortgage.

Among the new homes available using the HomeBuy Direct at The City is the delightful two-bedroom ‘Jackson’ apartment, which boasts all the benefits of practical design combined with the essentials for modern living.

The home features a spacious living room, a well-designed kitchen, two generously proportioned bedrooms – one with superb built-in storage space – and a separate bathroom. The accommodation is accessed from an entrance hallway.

In common with all new homes at The City, the ‘Jackson’ enjoys a high standard specification including gas central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with washer-dryer built-in oven, hob and cooker hood.

The ‘Jackson’ is available for as little as £64,397* using HomeBuy Direct, while alternative two-bedroom apartment designs are also available under the scheme.

Daniel McGowan, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “The HomeBuy Direct scheme is ideal for those keen to own their own place instead of paying rent or living with parents, but who have been concerned they wouldn’t be able to secure a mortgage.

“We are offering this scheme on the final phase of homes at The City – and with numbers limited, first-time buyers and key workers should act fast to secure their place.”

Orbit First Step HomeBuy Agency Team Manager, Karen Coleman, says: "HomeBuy Direct can help you if you have a household income of less than £60,000 and you want to buy a home directly from a property developer.

“It is a great new product that offers homebuyers flexibility and choice and we are witnessing a lot of interest from those interested in buying their own home.”

In a prime central location on the former Coventry City football ground, The City comprises one and two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom homes within easy reach of a vast range of amenities, shops and leisure pursuits, including theatres, concert halls, galleries, bars, restaurants, cafes and a vibrant nightlife.

Commuters will appreciate that the development enjoys easy access to the M6 and M40 motorways, while the city’s railway station operates regular services to London and Birmingham.

For those travelling abroad, Coventry has its own airport with flights to more than 20 European destinations, while Birmingham International is just a 30-minute drive away.
