Smooth moves with Redrow

By following a few hints and tips, even the messiest home can soon become every seller’s dream.
Paul Moran, sales director for Redrow Homes, who are developing OneEighty in Horsham, says: “Home buyers with a house to sell who want to increase their chances of moving up the property ladder can do so readily by de-cluttering their homes and fashioning a property that will entice potential buyers.”
To turn your house into a home, Dawn Kitchener, managing director for Redrow’s chosen interior designers, Connections in Design offers her tips. Dawn says:
“One of the simplest, but often overlooked, things people forget when selling their old home is to have a good tidy up and de-clutter. Ensure there everything is in its place, there is no clutter, and there is little on the floor. Also ensure that all light bulbs are working, carpets are cleaned and that the house smells nice.
“Ensure that decoration looks smart, windows are clean and that the front door will create a good first impression – even if this means a lick of paint and a new doorbell. Keep gardens and pathways tidy and add a vase of fresh flowers to the living area. It is well worth the outlay of a few pounds to update your home and attract buyers.”
Redrow is also on hand to offer help in the selling process – thanks to its Mastermove scheme. This allows buyers to ‘hold’ their dream home for up to four weeks while the house builder pursues a targeted action plan for the sale of the previous house – all for the minimum fee of £50. Once the house has been sold and they go on to purchase their new home, Redrow will pay the estate agent’s fees and refund the £50 Mastermove fee on legal completion.
One person who has taken advantage of this useful scheme is Alan Payne, who has recently moved into a two-bedroom apartment at Redrow’s OneEighty in Horsham. Alan says: “Redrow told me all about Mastermove when I first started looking at the apartments, it sounded like a good idea and it has worked out nicely. It has made the move go very smoothly and Redrow were always there when I needed them.”
Alan upgraded to a bigger apartment after growing tired of his small one-bedroom flat. He continues: “I’ve lived in Horsham all my life and I work here so to find these apartments at such a reasonable price was great for me. I’ve wanted to move in since I first saw the signs go up.”
Paul Moran adds: “It’s fantastic to see people like Alan taking advantage of the Mastermove scheme and having great success with it. We know how hard it is to find a buyer and negotiate a reasonable price for a property. With Mastermove, our sales team does all the hard work, allowing the buyer to concentrate on moving into their new home.”
The two-bedroom apartments, like Alan’s, come with an en-suite to master bedroom, fitted wardrobes, open plan kitchen, living/dining area, storage cupboard and parking space, all from £219,000.
OneEighty is close to Horsham town centre, which boasts two shopping centres, a park with football pitches and tennis courts and a swimming pool.
Trains travelling from Horsham Railway Station reach London in around an hour - perfect for home buyers who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the capital. Travel connections around Horsham are excellent with easy access to the A24, A29, A281 and the M23, leading to London, Chichester, Brighton and beyond.
