A double green development for Kirdford, West Sussex

A study commissioned by DEFRA in 2006 reported that there were approximately 4300 town and village green registered prior to 1993 across England. Based on applications received since 1993, DEFRA suggests that there has been at least a 2-3% increase in village greens.
In keeping with Rydon Homes’ Commitment to sustainability, all homes at this site will reach the Eco-Homes “very good” rating. Eco features include:
Energy efficient appliances
Cycle storage facilities
Kitchen recycling containers
Aerated taps
Dual flush toilets
Sustainable, native landscaping
Low energy external lighting
Environmentally sensitive building design with maximum natural light and heat feeds into each home
Located on the former site of Kirdford Growers, which wound up last December with the loss of several jobs, Bourn Meadows will also have five commercial units, offering new employment potential and the opportunity for both living and working in this pleasant West Sussex village.
Comprising detached and terraced units set around a village green, Bourn Meadows will include 20 one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses as well as the five commercial units. Each home has been individually-designed and set amidst sustainably landscaped grounds. Carefully designed to fit in with the vernacular style, roofs will be plain clay, hogs-back-ridge, valley and bonnet hip tiles, for example, while windows will be painted white with flush joints and the external doors will be varnished hardwood.
The development is located 6.2 miles from Billingshurst and 13.2 miles from Horsham both of which have regular train services into London Victoria in approximately an hour.
Natalie Flint, Sales and Marketing Director for Rydon Homes reports, “Bourn Meadows exemplifies what Rydon is all about – creating beautiful developments with real benefit to the entire community. We understand sustainability is more than just insulation and we design and build homes that people love to live in. We offer a full range of well designed homes appealing to both downsizers and families, who want to become part of village life. By offering commercial units as well as a new village green, we believe we have given Kirdford strong foundations for enhancing this vibrant community.”
Prices start at £330,000.
