Barratt starts work in Hassocks, Sussex

3rd October 2007 Print
Barratt starts work in Hassocks, Sussex Leading UK housebuilder, Barratt, is already receiving enquiries for a new development of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes to be created in the attractive village of Hassocks, just north of Brighton.

Planning permission has been granted for the first phase of development, comprising 130 new homes, and plans for the second phase of development, which will include up to 150 homes, have been submitted for approval.

It isn’t surprising that there’s interest in the new scheme at this early stage. Hassocks is an attractive village surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Sussex. The South Downs Way passes within a mile of the village and the network of paths and bridleways are used by ramblers, walkers and riders.

The village has plenty to offer including three pubs, two restaurants, a small supermarket and a variety of shops and banking facilities as well as a park and tennis courts. Hassocks also hosts a village market on the fourth Saturday in every month. For a day’s shopping or an evening out, Brighton is easily accessible by road or rail.

Commuters will appreciate the travel links: Hassocks station, in the centre of the village, is on the main London to Brighton line and provides frequent trains to London, Brighton and the South Coast. The rail journey to Brighton only takes about 10 minutes whilst the journey to London takes approximately one hour. For those who travel further afield, Shoreham airport is about 10 miles away and Gatwick is less than 23 miles away.

Prices are expected to start from £250,000. To register for further information on the development, scheduled to be launched in autumn, visit the website: Barratthomes.co.uk.
