Barratt launches rural idyll in Hassocks

26th February 2008 Print
Over 350,000 people have moved out of London in recent years* and this trend is set to continue. Many cite the appeal of the rural idyll as one of the key reasons for this trend.

In choosing a new village-based home, individuals are drawn by the allure of a better lifestyle; good schools, lower crime rates, a slower pace-of-life and the health benefits of being close to the countryside.

Clayton Mills, the latest development by Barratt Southern Counties, will be launching in style with champagne for every visitor over the weekend of 1st and 2nd March on the edge of the historic village of Hassocks in West Sussex. Three magnificent showhomes will be available to view during the course of the weekend giving a flavour of the two, three and four-bedroom homes available throughout the development.

Each property has been carefully designed with traditional exterior and contemporary interiors. Designer fitted kitchens are complemented by a range of state-of-the-art fixtures and fittings and bathrooms are modern in design with co-ordinated suites.

Catering for a better lifestyle, away from the hustle-and-bustle of city living, the sought-after village of Hassocks has a good selection of both primary and secondary schools within a five mile radius. Crime rates in the area are significantly below national average** and the beautiful South Downs with its network of paths and bridleways used by ramblers, walkers and riders can be accessed directly from the Clayton Mills development. A community within a community, Clayton Mills has four play areas, a large feature pond and a network of informal footpaths for residents to enjoy.

In addition, the village of Hassocks has plenty to offer including five pubs, two restaurants, a small supermarket and a variety of shops and banking facilities as well as a park and tennis courts. Brighton is just under 9 miles away with its lively cultural activities, eclectic mix of shopping, nightlife and beaches.

Commuting to and from London and the surrounding areas couldn’t be easier. Hassocks station is on the main London Victoria to Brighton line and provides fast and frequent trains; Brighton is a 10 minute train-ride away and the journey to London takes approximately one hour. Via the A23, the London orbital M25 (J7) makes traveling further afield very easy, with London Gatwick Airport less than 23 miles away.

Prices start from £239,995 for a two-bedroom home and range to £629,995 for a five-bedroom home.
