A house with its own pub!

20th May 2008 Print
A house with its own pub! Townends in Mitcham are marketing a property that has its very own traditional style pub a few feet away in the 40ft garden. The owner of this three bedroom end of terrace house is now also a landlord of his very own public house which he converted from a triple garage into a bar/games room for him and his friends to enjoy.

Situated in the large rear garden it has a real pub feel to it, with photos of stars covering the walls and old fashioned drinking beer glasses hanging from the ceiling. Also used as a games room the bar has a pool table, table top football, a 1960s pin ball machine and dart board.

Mr Kirk, owner of the property comments: "I have put a lot into it and it really is great. I used to love partying, but when I became a taxi driver I worked weekends so wanted somewhere we could go that wasn't in the house, so decided to convert my triple garage for when friends came over. Everyone loves it, even the neighbours used to come over for parties. It was ideal for when it was a hot Sunday and we were having a BBQ, we could just pop in there for a game of pool."

St. Georges Road, Mitcham, Surrey is on the market for £289,950. The property comprises three bedrooms, two reception rooms, kitchen and family bathroom with off street parking and a rear garden.

The property is well situated for commuting with Mitcham Junction mainline station under a mile away and Colliers Wood tube station approximately a mile and a half away which is on the northern line. The tram line also runs through Mitcham, connecting it to Croydon and Wimbledon.

Mitcham is also about to have a new overground station which opens this summer in Eastfields Road and it will take 20 minutes to reach Victoria.

Mitcham offers wild open spaces, walks along the River Wandle and a village green. There are three old pubs on the cricket green, the Burn Bullock, the Hooden on the Green and the Cricketers. Mitcham Common has 460 acres of open space.
