School kids witness foundations in Felbridge

Construction began at Eden Place in the latter half of last year, bringing a collection of twenty-four much needed family homes to the area. Most of the children pass by the development each day on their way to school, and Linden Homes invited a group of thirty year fives along to check on its progress.
Under the supervision of expert guide, Mark Smith - Linden’s Site Manager at Eden Place, the children were taken on an interactive tour of the building site, giving them an insight into the process of constructing a modern property, from foundations to fitted and furnished home. The children were given the opportunity to guess where each room would be from looking at the foundations, before walking through a property’s timber frame shell and viewing the completed showhome.
Yasmin Ravandi, Assistant Head Teacher at Felbridge Primary School, commented:
“Linden invited us along to gain an insight into the development and witness the different stages involved in building a new home. The children see the development every day, so it was really interesting for them to witness the house building process and to form an understanding of what is happening there.”
Mark Smith of Linden Homes added:
“We were really pleased to offer this tour and show the school what is taking place on site. Children take a real interest in house building, which is important as it helps them to build a better understanding of their local area. We were able to demonstrate a basic timeline of construction in a way that the children could really relate back to their own homes.”
Eden Place consists of a selection of family homes, ranging from three bedroom terraces to five bedroom detached houses. Prices for homes remaining for sale start at £299,995. For more details visit Lindenhomes.co.uk.
