Dunmow students look forward to building the future

The visit was organised by Countryside Properties and Twenty Twenty Learning to teach the students about the business side of the construction industry, sustainable housing, and the various environmental issues surrounding new developments.
The Twenty Twenty Learning Summer School aims to motivate and challenge students who have been identified as Gifted and Talented by offering a different context to the normal classroom environment. Following the visit to Priors Green the students are planning and putting together their ideas for a sustainable housing development which they will then present to their parents and a panel of judges who will choose the winning development design.
David Aplin from Countryside Properties said: “These students represent the people who will be responsible for designing our future environment and for helping to drive the construction industry forward. Days like today are all about encouraging these young people to be inspired to join the industry and also to highlight why issues surrounding sustainability and construction are so important.”
Helen Parry of Twenty Twenty Learning, said “This visit has been an excellent way to teach the students about the business side of the construction industry and the issues facing any new development. The students have been really looking forward to seeing a live development in progress.”
Priors Green is a brand new village community. At the Thatchams, the first phase of the development by Countryside Properties, there is a wide range of family housing, and with eleven different house designs, there is something to suit every family. All the homes feature carefully designed flexible interiors, gardens and parking to meet the needs of today’s active families.
Priors Green will offer over 700 new homes across a 90 acre site with no less than 10 acres of public open space, and land has been set aside for a new neighbourhood centre with retail and community facilities. There is also land set aside for a future new primary school, subject to proven need.
Prices at The Thatchams at Priors Green start from £250,000 for a three bedroom semi-detached house. For further details or to view the show homes, contact the Countryside Properties Marketing Suite or visit Thatchams.com.
