Essex site managers take great pride in their jobs

Martin Haymes and John Howarth John Howarth, and Martin Haymes, site managers for house builder Countryside Properties, have been honoured by the National House-Building Council (NHBC) as two of the UK’s best site managers.

John was awarded the prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award for his work as site manager at Priors Green, the new development by Countryside Properties in Little Canfield, Essex, and Martin for Fortuna Park in Colchester, Essex.

Over the years, the Pride in the Job competition has become synonymous with quality new homes and as a result has become a recognised seal of approval for new homebuyers everywhere. The drive for quality is at the heart of the Pride in the Job awards and is an integral part of NHBC's role of helping to help raise standards for new home buyers.

John commented; “I’m really proud to win this award. The whole team here on site do take a great deal of pride in our work and it’s nice to be recognised for this. It’s also important that outstanding work in the industry is recognised in order to raise standards to ensure quality and good working practices are rewarded.”

John and Martin will receive their awards at a ceremony in Copthorne Manor Hotel, near Gatwick, where he will find out if he has been successful in the next stage of the competition – the Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence. Two other site managers from Countryside Properties (Southern) Ltd have also been recognised for the excellence of their management, and will be receiving the same ‘Pride in the Job’ awards at the ceremony.
