Chitty proves a hit for Redrow in Heybridge

While the kids were enticed with Chitty, potential buyers took a look around the large Venford and Webburn homes, viewed a scale model of the development along with floor plans and interior specifications and had all their questions answered by the Redrow staff.
Beryl Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern) says: “Everyone had a great time at the launch and the kids loved Chitty. The show homes are fantastic and because they’re so different to each other there’s something to suit everyone. They’re really memorable homes and have been great in actually allowing buyers to visualise what their life could be like at The Lakes – as well as giving them a few decorating tips.”
The four-bedroom Venford home has a neutral colour theme, with soft browns and creams throughout, accented with a strong burnt orange colour. Floral patterned wallpapers have been used in some rooms to create a feeling of luxury, while elegant light fittings add a glamorous touch. A mix of dark wood and oak furniture is used throughout the home, while the dining room has a whole breath-taking wall of mirrored glass – one of the central features of the home.
The five-bedroom Webburn is a classic family home, with cool and calming aqua and neutral colours combined with soft metallics. The bold patterned wallpaper is accented with a mixture of glass and chrome furniture, and rustic oak furniture in the master bedroom. One of the bedrooms has also been decorated with a sail boat theme – complete with boat wallpaper.
Beryl continues: “Our buyers love the idea of having water views and being in such a genuinely beautiful and relaxing setting. There’s so much to do in the local area, amenities are close by and if you fancy a change of scenery a trip to London will only take around 40 minutes.”
There’s also a further incentive to buy at The Lakes – Redrow will consider using a part exchange deal on selected properties. This means that buyers after a quick and easy move can leave all the hard work of selling their own home up to Redrow.
When completed The Lakes will be made up of 124 properties in three, four and five-bedroom styles, ranging from two storey terraces to large detached homes. The 15-acre venture will also have a selection of versatile three storey homes.
Among the selection currently available is the four-bedroom Ribble. This three storey home dedicates its extra floor to the luxurious master suite, which has an en-suite shower room and built in wardrobes. The home also has a family bathroom, large lounge, dining room/kitchen, downstairs cloakroom and understairs storage cupboard. Prices start at £338,995.
Also available is the three-bedroom Kennet, which comes with an en-suite to master bedroom, family bathroom, separate dining room, kitchen, lounge, understairs storage and downstairs cloakroom. Prices start from £291,000.
The development has quickly become popular thanks to its beautiful views of the River Blackwater and proximity to the picturesque Heybridge Basin, which offers walks along the seawall back into Heybridge. The Lakes is also close to the historic town of Maldon, which is one of the oldest recorded towns in Britain; and is opposite Maldon’s Promenade Park.
In Heybridge itself there is a shopping complex, restaurants, supermarkets and pubs and the town remains a popular holiday destination for many people.
While the development itself is set in quiet, natural surroundings, busier surroundings can be reached in around minutes in the shape of Chelmsford, while London Liverpool Street is around 40 minutes away by direct rail link from Chelmsford or Witham stations.
