Youngsters plan for the future with Countryside Properties

Youngsters plan for the future with Countryside Properties 34 students from Rodings Primary School in Dunmow, got an inside glimpse into how a housing development is carefully planned, constructed and styled, when they visited Priors Green by Countryside Properties in Little Canfield, Essex where a brand new village community is beginning to take shape.

The visit was organised by Countryside Properties to raise the awareness of career opportunities available in the construction industry, designed to coincide with National Construction Week (8th – 12th October), a UK wide awareness week.

Countryside Properties took the message to Year 5 students with tours of the two new village ponds, tree-lined streets and large family homes. The nine and ten year olds got a first-hand lesson in how a new residential community is planned and designed, ready to meet the needs of today’s homebuyers, and support wider environmental issues.

Yvonne Hudson-Green, Sales and Marketing Director for Countryside Properties, says: “I’m really pleased that these students have been able to experience exactly how a housing development works and are getting a chance to see what Countryside Properties are doing in the local community. We need to do all we can about encouraging these young students to be inspired to join the industry and to learn important lessons about new homes and the environment.”

The visit coincided with the Year 5 students’ classroom learning about the British landscape and the green environment. Following the visit to Priors Green the students spent the afternoon taking part in an educational activity, acting as a construction company invited to tender for the contract of planning a new housing development.

Priors Green is a brand new village community that offers a wide variety of family homes. At the Thatchams, the first phase of the development, there are eleven different house designs, meaning there is something to suit every family. All the homes feature carefully designed flexible interiors, gardens and parking to meet the needs of today’s active families.

When completed Priors Green will offer over 700 new homes along with ten acres of open space. In addition, land has been set aside for a new neighbourhood centre with retail and community facilities. There is also land set aside for a future new primary school, subject to proven need.

Prices at The Thatchams at Priors Green start at £247,500 for a three-bedroom house. For further details visit Thatchams.com.
