Weston Homes raises over £70,000 for charity On Friday 12th October, 388 golfers from across the country took part in the annual St Clare’s Hospice sponsored by Weston Homes to raise £73,700 for the Essex based charity, which cares for people and their families who are affected by life-limiting diseases.

A total of 97 teams took part across three golf courses in Essex and Hertfordshire, the Manor of Groves, Canons Brook and Blakes Golf Club. The teams were made up from suppliers, business associates and friends of West Homes, all of whom donated money to St Clare’s Hospice to attend the day.

With prizes on offer including flat screen TVs, iPod Nanos, a magnum of champagne and DVD recorders, competition among the golfers was high with the end of the day seeing overall winners John Watts, James Watts, Daniel Field and Martin Parfitt receiving the Daniel Robinson Cup and Embroidered Golf Bags.

Bob Weston, Chairman of the Weston Group comments: “Now in its 13th year, the annual golf day continues to be a success. This year we raised a total of £73,700 , managing to beat last years total £56,000. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank all parties involved and everyone who contributed to the charity, which continues to be very close to our hearts.”
