Redrow goes the extra 'Myle' for buyers

Buying together for the first time proved problem free for Paul Huk and Nicki Morgan who found their ideal home at The Myle in Colchester, Essex. Agreeing on an area, a price or the same property are just a few of the problems modern couples can face when buying a house together for the first time, but for Paul Huk and Nicki Morgan, it was plain sailing.

Moving less than a mile away from their previous properties, the couple fell in love at first sight with their new four-bedroom, three-storey ‘Neale 3’ townhouse at The Myle, which comes with an en-suite off the master bedroom, separate dining room, downstairs cloak room and carport.

“We love our new home. I didn’t get further into the house than the hallway before I knew it was the one for us; it really grabbed us how comfortable it felt. It really clicked,” says Paul.

“It’s such an improvement on our old houses, especially in terms of size. Originally we were looking for a three-bedroom terrace; this is a more significant move up the property ladder than we had intended to make, but financially, it wasn’t a big leap at all.

“And, as a new build house it has saved us extra money that we would have needed for renovations and maintenance. Pound for pound it has beaten all of the other, older properties we looked at,” he added.

Paul and Nicki, both 29, particularly like the extra space a third floor provides and the unique layout of the house. Accommodating two guest rooms and a games room, they are enjoying the versatility and extra space provided by an extra floor, something that would benefit an array of buyers in today’s space-limited property market.

Paul said: “The house is great, from start to finish. We especially like having the lounge on the first floor and the extra floor is an amazing addition, the stairs certainly keep you healthy too! We’re using two of the bedrooms on the third floor as a guest room and a games room, where I can spend hours playing on my consoles. The area is lovely too; the development isn’t far from the main road but is also close to green countryside. It really is perfect.”

Concerned about the implications of having to sell their old properties, Paul got peace of mind by taking advantage of Redrow’s part exchange programme.
