New apartments for Rayleigh town centre Barratt Eastern Counties has secured planning permission to build 22 two-bedroom apartments in the market town of Rayleigh in South East Essex.

The first homes will be released for sale at the end of February and Barratt is inviting people to register their interest now.

Rebecca Littler, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt Eastern Counties, comments: “Rayleigh is an increasingly popular place to live and the new apartments are within an easy walk of the high street and station. London is just 45 minutes by train, which makes these homes a great choice for commuters or for downsizers who want easy access to London.”

The new apartments at King’s Gate are housed in two attractive low-rise buildings, set in landscaped gardens. Each home has its own allocated parking space.

There is a good choice of different layouts, including the option of a contemporary open-plan arrangement, with a large combined living/dining/ kitchen area, or a separate kitchen. Many of the apartments have a second bathroom, which is ensuite to the master bedroom.

Rayleigh is a picturesque market town with an excellent range of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. It has a state of the art leisure centre run by Virgin Active and excellent local schools, both primary and secondary. Lakeside Thurrock, Europe’s largest shopping centre, is just half an hour’s drive away.

Travelling to London is fast and easy, with 45-minutes services to Liverpool Street, as often as four times an hour in the peak and 30 miles away by road. Southend is less than ten miles away via the nearby A127 and it is just an hour’s drive to Stansted Airport.

The price of a two-bedroom apartment at King’s Gate is expected to be in the region of £199,950.
