Head start' for first time buyers at Fifth Avenue

Barratt has launched its ‘Head Start'* scheme for first time buyers at Fifth Avenue in Harlow, making it even easier to buy a home at this popular development.

Fifth Avenue, which will have 750 homes when complete, is located on a 27 acre site off Fifth Avenue, near the main A414. The first two phases include a range of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses.

The new ‘Head Start' deal allows first time buyers to move into a brand new apartment or house for only 85 per cent of the purchase price, while still owning a full 100 per cent of the property. There is no deposit to pay; the buyer just pays the legal fees and stamp duty. No interest or rent is payable on the 15 per cent deferred, which is paid back as 15 per cent of the property's open market value at any time up to the resale of the property or within ten years, whichever is sooner.

Prices for homes currently available at Fifth Avenue start from £162,500 for a one-bedroom apartment, £175,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, £250,000 for a two bedroom house and £375,000 for a four bedroom house.
