Colchester home owners can ditch their cars

Colchester home owners can ditch their cars With rising fuels costs and growing congestion, more people are ditching their cars in favour of greener and cheaper public transport - which makes Redrow's new development in Colchester just the ticket. According to a recent YouGov poll*, train use has increased dramatically since petrol prices rocketed this year and people are becoming more aware of their carbon footprint. So it's no wonder then that The Myle venture, which is just a hop, skip and a short bus ride away from Colchester train station, is proving popular.

As well as being drawn to the contemporary two-bedroom apartments and spacious two, three and four-bedroom homes, buyers are also sold on the fact that London is just an hour's train ride away - commuting heaven for city workers in search of a home away from the rat race.

Beryl Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern), says: "When it comes to letting the train take the strain, The Myle is well placed. Colchester station is just two miles away and can be reached via a bus ride of just over 10 minutes and, the fact that the bus stop is right outside the development, is another added bonus. All this makes The Myle an ideal choice for people working in London, who appreciate the easy commute.

"There's no ridiculous early rise with the journey to the capital; there's a train which leaves Colchester at 7.50am and arrives in London Euston an hour later - leaving enough time to make it to the office.

"Commuters who choose to take the bus to the station can leave their car at home - maybe even dispense with it altogether - and avoid the hassle of parking and any costs incurred, but for those seeking the convenience of door to door travel there are ample car park facilities at or near Colchester station.

The Myle offers home hunters something which is impossible to find in the larger cities - a spacious home minus the hefty price tag.

Current prices begin at £159,995 for a two-bedroom apartment and reach £249,995, for a spacious four-bedroom mid terrace home.

Also there will soon be even more choice at The Myle, when the third phase of properties are released for sale.

And prospective purchasers on the look out for the easiest route to owning their own home can speak to the on-site sales consultant about the choice of flexible incentives available under the umbrella of ‘re:assure from Redrow'.
