Laindon site manager awarded for excellence Andrew Ashley, Site Manager at Church View, Barratt Eastern Counties' new development in Laindon, near Basildon, has been recognised with a Quality Award in the prestigious National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job competition. Andrew, who lives locally in Braintree, has worked for Barratt for five years.

The award was presented to Andrew by Steve Catt, NHBC regional director for the South East at a party hosted by Barratt to celebrate the win.

Pride in the Job seeks out and rewards the best site managers across the UK. Judging takes place in unannounced visits by NHBC inspectors, who give scores across 38 different areas of site management, including technical knowledge, build consistency and leadership skills. 18,000 site managers across the country are entered into the awards.

Adam Lawrence, Regional Managing Director of Barratt London and Thames Gateway comments: "Pride in the Job is the most sought after award in the industry because it provides a highly accurate measure of performance and is synonymous with high quality house building. I congratulate Andrew and his team on a superb achievement."

This year, Barratt site managers across the country have won a record 72 Quality Awards in the Pride In The Job competition - the highest number ever claimed by one housebuilder in the 28-year history of the awards.

Church View is an attractive development of houses and apartments on the outskirts of Basildon, just a short walk from the local church and shops. Barratt is building a wide selection of homes, from two-bedroom apartments to spacious family houses.
