Colchester couple find their ideal family home

With plenty of space for a playroom and a secure, good-sized garden, Alex Everitt and Jenna Knight, both 23, knew they had found their perfect place in the Prospects neighbourhood on the north-west edge of Colchester, where the houses are designed around an Edwardian theme.
"We had looked at a few new developments, but we just knew this was where we wanted to be," said Jenna. "On other developments the houses seemed to be really on top of each other, but here we are looking out over grass and trees."
The couple's decision to move had become all the more urgent with the arrival of Poppy [ten months old in December], a sister for Finley (2). Leading housebuilder George Wimpey took the couple's old house in part-exchange and Jenna says they moved in within a week of signing up.
"We couldn't believe how quickly things happened. We had put a deposit down on another house on the development, but then changed our mind when we saw this one. The sales office was fantastic and sorted it out for us. We were in within a week," said Jenna.
Now the couple are looking forward to having their family and friends round over Christmas. "We have all the space we need now," Jenna said. "I can see us living here for a long time because it is big enough for us to grow into as a family."
Their new home is ideally placed for Alex (23) to cycle to work at LandRover in Colchester and within easy reach for Jenna to drive to her job as a web designer in Ipswich, when she returns after maternity leave.
Colchester town centre is a short bus or car-ride away, where shoppers are spoilt for choice and places to eat and drink are plentiful, while for great days out, the coast at West Mersea is within a 20-minute drive.
For those travelling further afield, the M11 and Stansted Airport are easily accessible via the new A120.
A choice of four-bedroom homes are available at Prospects, with prices starting from £224,995, as well as one-bedroom apartments. The sumptuous ‘Sampford', priced from £289,995 is a perfect family home with four bedrooms, two of which have en-suite shower rooms, and a family bathroom.
As bedroom four is downstairs, it could also be used as a study or a playroom for little ones and being the heart of the home, the spacious kitchen includes a family area with French doors to the private rear garden. There is also a downstairs cloakroom. The lounge benefits from attractive bay windows to the front and there are two allocated parking spaces.

All new homes at Prospects enjoy a high standard specification including gas central heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood.
Also, househunters interested in making their move to the development can take advantage of George Wimpey's easymover programme, offering a range of special incentives on selected properties including support for first time buyers - while customers with a house to sell can reserve their new home and then sit back while the housebuilder helps to find a buyer for their current property.
