Get more than you bargained for with Persimmon If you’re thinking about buying your first home, given the current market conditions, you’ve probably resided to the fact that you’ve only got two options – a small apartment or a small house. Well, with support from Persimmon Homes Anglia, you could broaden your horizons as the competitively priced three bedroom homes at its Sudbury development have been priced with first time buyers and key workers in mind.

Jon Gibbs, sales director for Persimmon Homes Anglia comments: “I strongly believe that the recent economic downturn shouldn’t continue to hinder those looking to buy their all important first property. Not should it limit the range and styles of homes they can choose from, which is why at Stour Croft in Sudbury we’re offering a number of two and even three bedroom homes at prices they can afford.”

Currently available at the development is a range of two, three and four bedroom homes for those looking to move onto or up the property ladder. Prices at Stour Croft start from £149,950 and with plot specific cash discounts and an offer of a £500 mortgage subsidy for two years, purchasing at the Sudbury development can be both stress free and cost effective.

As well as this, the company is supporting the Government’s HomeBuy Direct 70 per cent shared equity scheme at Stour Croft, meaning first time buyers and key workers are able to move with ease when buying with Persimmon.

Purchasers buying homes under the Government’s HomeBuy Direct scheme, will be required to raise funding, including a mortgage plus a small deposit where available, of at least 70 per cent of the purchase price. The remaining 30 per cent will be made up by an equity loan which is co-funded by the Government and Persimmon Homes. Households earning less than £60,000 who can not otherwise afford to purchase a suitable property unassisted on the open market will be eligible to apply.

“When it comes to understanding the needs and current restraints facing first time buyers, the team at Persimmon are fully aware of the complications involved with buying a first home. For those thinking about purchasing their first property, I’d encourage them to come and speak to us as we’re on hand to talk interested parties through the process and the procedures involved as well as HomeBuy Direct, making it both an attractive and affordable option,” concludes Jon.

Persimmon is currently building homes on Phase II of the development, following on from the success of the first phase.

The picturesque town of Sudbury, located one of mile away, offers an abundance of local amenities including shops, restaurants and pubs as well as leisure facilities and a monthly farmers market. The development itself is situated ideally for those wanting to commute, with Colchester just a short drive away via the A13.
