Persimmon confirms commitment to Colchester

Riverside Quarter, situated on Cowdray Avenue in the town has now launched with an impressive mix of homes designed and priced to enable a wide variety of local people to continue to live in the area.
The scheme will comprise just 117 new homes including two bedroom apartments and a range of two, three and four bedroom houses. Prices are due to be announced shortly.
Neil Sykes, sales director for Persimmon Homes Essex, comments: “The launch of Riverside Quarter follows on from the success of a number of our previous Colchester developments. We have established an excellent reputation in the area for building high quality homes at carefully planned developments in sought-after locations and we expect to receive interest from a diverse mix of purchasers including local buyers and those moving to the area.”
Residents at the Riverside Quarter will benefit from being part of Persimmon’s conservation plans for the area, which includes nine acres of nature reserve and public open space with Essex Wildlife Trust’s endorsement. The company will be creating a pleasant landscaped strip along Cowdray Avenue, which will include a number of semi mature trees and the development will also incorporate new riverside walks, footpaths and cycle ways.
Neil adds: “Although there has been some queries surrounding the construction of the development, I’d like to take this opportunity to reassure interested parties that three separate firms of independent consultant engineers, The Environment Agency, Colchester Borough Council and the Government’s independent inspector were unanimous in deciding that our homes at Riverside Quarter should be built and would not be subject to flood.”
