Bryant makes donation to Wivenhoe British Legion

Leading local builder Bryant Homes has donated a substantial £2,000 to help anchor the future of Royal British Legion Club at Wivenhoe quayside.

Reflecting the success of Saturday’s Regatta, which attracted more than 3,000 people to watch the boat races and on-shore entertainment, Bryant’s donation has been made through the Wivenhoe Ocean Racing Club (WORC), which holds its meetings at The Royal British Legion Club and is keen to encourage more local people to use the facility.

Martyn Carrick, Honorary Secretary of WORC, says: “We are very grateful to Bryant Homes for its £2,000 donation, which will be put towards the restoration of the 150-year-old building to ensure The Royal British Legion Club remains at the heart of the Wivenhoe community for years to come.

“It is donations such as this, combined with the support of local people, which will ensure the Club becomes a viable and attractive quayside venue for functions, parties and meetings, and during annual events, such as the Regatta.”
