Former bus depot gets champagne relaunch

The site was formerly occupied by a disused lorry depot, and will be transformed into a stylish collection of just 14 traditionally styled family homes in a location close to the beautiful North Essex countryside.
The homes will launch at the Hornbeams marketing suite in Little Canfield, near Takeley, CM22 1FE on Saturday 27th June from 10 am to 6 pm. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy a glass of champagne and view the plans and model of the development. There will also be the opportunity to look around the showhomes which represent several of the house types that will be available at Foxgloves.
Rebecca Littler, Sales and Marketing Director for David Wilson Homes, comments: “We are delighted that work has begun on this exciting new development, which has been specially designed to be in keeping with Newport’s long history and heritage. We have taken great care to design these homes in a style that blends into the area and enhances the village.
“There will be a wide variety of house styles to give buyers as much choice as possible. I would encourage anyone who is interested to make a visit to our champagne launch at Hornbeams this weekend to see what we have planned for the site.”
The range of homes will include two, three, four and five-bedroom homes to suit all sizes of family. David Wilson Homes has a strong reputation for building homes that combine quality, style and a clever use of space. All of the homes at Foxgloves are built to a high level of sustainability including solar panels, aerated taps and water butts. Some homes also benefit from garden sheds in the rear gardens.
Many of the houses have a separate living room, dining room and kitchen, with the addition of a study in the larger homes. French doors from either the living area or dining room open out on to the rear garden, making outdoor entertaining easy. Most will benefit from en suite bathrooms to the master bedrooms in addition to the main family bathroom. All the houses include convenient extras such as fitted wardrobes in the master bedroom and high quality kitchen appliances.
The range of four and five-bedroom homes include both two and three storey designs; both styles use space very effectively with the three storey homes providing that extra degree of privacy and ability to ‘get away from it all’ on the top floor. Every house has a landscaped front garden and turfed rear garden, and a garage or allocated parking space.
Newport is an established village community with a population of just 2,000. It benefits from all the local amenities residents could need, including a selection of good local pubs, a post office and a village shop.
Despite its rural tranquillity, Foxgloves is within walking distance of Newport station, which has frequent services to Cambridge and Stansted Airport in less than 30 minutes and London Liverpool Street in around an hour.
There is a good range of primary and secondary schools in the area, including the popular Newport Free Grammar School, which is also within very easy walking distance of Foxgloves. Tracing its roots back to the late sixteenth century, the school is today fully comprehensive and co-educational. It is well known for its former pupil, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, whose father runs the award-winning country inn, The Cricketers, in the nearby village of Clavering.
Prices at the development will start at £219,950 for a two-bedroom home. For more information, please contact the Foxgloves marketing suite at Hornbeams, Dunmow Road, Little Canfield, near Takeley, Essex, CM22 1FE, open daily from 10 am to 6 pm or visit the website at dwh.co.uk.
