Jump a step of the property ladder with shared equity

26th August 2009 Print
Jump a step of the property ladder with shared equity With the average house move costing £8,305 (according to a recent survey) Miller Homes is offering home owners the chance to miss out on a move by purchasing a new property at Priors Green with the MiWay shared equity incentive.

The survey, carried out last year by propertyfinder.com, showed that on average people looking to move home in the UK can currently expect to pay £450 in removal costs, £1,000 in lawyer fees, £3,708 in estate agent’s fees, and £3,828 in stamp duty.

However, with MiWay purchasers can miss out on a move (and the expenses associated with moving) as they only have to pay 75 per cent of the value of the property, with Miller Homes paying the remaining 25 per cent. This, explains Miller Homes’ Sales Director Steve Garton, means that purchasers will be able to buy more house for their money and will effectively be able to buy a bigger home than initially planned.

“With the scheme we’ve found that purchasers can afford to buy a bigger house than they first anticipated,” says Steve. “People have been able to jump from a one bedroom flat to a three or four bedroom house, skipping the second and sometimes third rung of the ladder and missing out on all of the costs associated with moving home. Using MiWay purchasers can buy a house-for-life, and can also save an average of £8,305 at the same time.”

MiWay is currently available on just two homes at Priors Green. Plots 145 and 146 are both four bedroom houses in The Goldcrest design. Each home takes advantage of the gentle angles of its crescent setting to create some fascinating interiors. On the ground floor the additional space has been used to extend the dining room and provide a reconfigured kitchen with a large cupboard, while upstairs it adds a luxurious dressing area and charming pentagonal en-suite show room to the master bedroom.

Priors Green boasts a number of public open spaces and has been beautifully landscaped with its future residents in mind. Set on the edge of the village of Little Canfield, Priors Green is less than four miles from the M11 motorway and gives easy access to both London and Cambridge.

With only two family homes offered with MiWay visit the development now to find out how it works and to avoid disappointment. The show home is open from Thursday to Monday between 10am and 5pm.
