‘be at Newhall’ wins British Homes Award Linden Homes Eastern has added to a growing list of accolades for its ‘be at Newhall’ development on the outskirts of Harlow in Essex, triumphing in the ‘Small House of the Year’ category at the British Homes Awards 2009*.

The Awards are designed to recognise excellence and innovation in the newbuild industry. The ‘Small House of the Year’ prize was open to the country’s leading new homes with accommodation up to 2,000 square feet, showing outstanding contemporary or vernacular design. The houses at be, which have been designed by leading architect Alison Brooks, were praised by the judges for their striking design, energy-efficiency and use of space to create a “thoroughly modern family home”.

Accepting the award for be, Alison Brooks comments:

“The continued recognition of be underlines the unique quality of the development and the opportunity it presents for home buyers to live in a modern, sustainable community. The scheme we have designed for Linden Homes offers open, flexible internal layouts and architecture that draws on the powerful rural building forms found in the Essex landscape.”

Roseanne Bullen, Sales and Marketing Manager, Linden Homes Eastern, added:

“The homes at be have become widely recognised as among the most innovatively designed and sought-after in the new homes market. The development represents a rare combination of traditional local living values, with hugely progressive contemporary architecture and innovative new-build techniques.

“The British Homes Awards are among the highest accolades achievable in the new homes industry, and we are delighted with the wide acclaim that be continues to receive from our peers, as well as the home buying public.”

The popularity of be among home buyers has been such, that phase one of the development sold out in less than six months following the launch earlier this year. A second phase of 24 new homes will soon be released, comprising a combination of apartments, three bedroom courtyard homes and three and four bedroom-detached villas.

Guide prices will start from £164,995 for a one bedroom apartment, £375,000 for a three bedroom detached villa and £399,995 for a four bedroom detached villa. For further information visit lindenhomes.co.uk.
