Warren school invigorates the senses Lowestoft-based The Warren School, which offers specialist teaching for children with physical and severe learning difficulties as young as three years old up to the age of 19, has recently unveiled its new and improved sensory room, designed to assist with the ongoing learning and development of its students.

The sensory room, which comes complete with fibre optic curtain, interactive bubble dome, wind machine, mood light, sensory projector and music system, was opened by The Warren School's head teacher Mr Chris Moore and the refurbished room came as a direct result from a generous £10,000 donation from local firm, Persimmon Homes Anglia.

The funding was raised through a brave 10,000ft tandem freefall parachute jump made by a number of Persimmon employees, who also attended the unveiling of the room. The Warren School also received a £500 donation from the East Point Rotary Club for the Sensory Room.

David Bryant, group development director for Persimmon Homes, comments: "As a company we are dedicated to helping local charities within the communities in which we build and we couldn't think of a more worthy cause than The Warren School. To see the result of the team's hard work and fundraising come to fruition makes me very proud and this is an achievement the whole organisation should feel part of."

Mr Chris Moore adds: "Thanks to Persimmon's kind donation we have created a state of the art sensory room, which will become a vital learning tool in assisting with the development of the children's education. Everyone at the school is very grateful to Persimmon Homes and we are looking forward to using the room to its full extent."
