Award-winning site manager joins team at Kingsbury Grange Award-winning George Wimpey site manager Nicos Charalambous has donned his hard hat to oversee the construction of high-quality homes at his local development - Kingsbury Grange in Bury St Edmunds.

Senior Site Manager, Nicos has been managing teams of builders, plumbers, plasterers and electricians over the past two decades, and now brings his superb organisational skills to develop a new range of apartments and houses in the Moreton Hall area the Suffolk town.

Nicos, who is originally from Cyprus and now lives locally to Bury, recently won George Wimpey East Anglia's Production Quality Award, given to the best site manager in the region. Before coming to Kingsbury Grange he worked on the leading housebuilder's Iceni development in Longstanton near Cambridge, which has now been completed.

"The role of a site manager involves every aspect of what goes on at the construction site," explains Nicos. "This includes the day-to-day management of everyone who works on the build, ordering materials and organising which plots are built first, and setting and meeting targets for the release of homes to our customers.

"I think the reason I was selected to win the Production Quality Award was that I firmly believe we are not just building houses, but homes for individuals."

Kingsbury Grange will comprise one and two-bedroom apartments and three, four and five-bedroom homes. The three-bedroom ‘Wessex' is just one of the popular property designs being constructed under Nicos' experienced eye.

Ideal for first-time buyers and couples and families of all ages, this versatile home features a living room with French doors to a private garden, a well-proportioned kitchen and a downstairs cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to a double bedroom and bedroom/study and a main bathroom. The master bedroom with en-suite shower room sits proudly on the top floor. Outside is an allocated parking space.

Like all new homes at Kingsbury Grange, the finishing touches to the ‘Wessex' include a luxury Symphony kitchen with built-in stainless steel oven and hob, Porcelanosa tiles and Rocca sanitaryware.

The ‘Wessex' is currently available at the development from £189,995, while alternative three-bedroom designs start at £192,995. The one-bedroom ‘Teme' apartment with allocated parking is priced from just £99,995.

Kingsbury Grange enjoys a position close to the shops, cafes and restaurants of Bury's lively market town centre, and within easy reach of the cathedral's peaceful Abbey Gardens and miles of unspoilt countryside.

The new Arc quarter opens in February 2009 and will extend the existing town centre, bringing new businesses and jobs to the area. Arranged around two open shopping streets and a public square, the regeneration includes a new department store and around 35 new shops, cafés and restaurants.

Closer still, a convenience store, post office, pub and restaurant are within easy walking distance of Kingsbury Grange, while a choice of supermarkets are also located close by.

For commuters, Bury enjoys excellent road and rail links, with the A14 just a few minutes' drive away, while the town railway station offers services to Cambridge and Ipswich, each providing onward travel to London.

Househunters interested in making their move now can take advantage of George Wimpey's easymover programme, offering special incentives on selected properties including support for first-time buyers, while customers with a house to sell can reserve a new home and then sit back and relax while the housebuilder helps to find a buyer for their current property.

Incentives can be tailored to homebuyers' circumstances and are subject to availability. Further details are available from the Sales Executive.
