Young family say ‘The Presidents is the place for us!’

Young family say ‘The Presidents is the place for us!’ George Wimpey Commercial Manager Simon Rolfe is starting the New Year in a brand new home - and for him there was no contest when it came to choosing a place for his young family. The 34-year-old, who works at the leading housebuilder's regional head office in Bury St Edmunds, selected a classic four-bedroom house at The Presidents development in Beck Row near Mildenhall.

"My partner, Carla, and I had been living in a two-bedroom bungalow in Mildenhall," says Simon. "It was handy for work and for our four-year-old daughter, Ellie, who goes to school in Mildenhall, but we wanted somewhere with more space and now is a very good time to buy a new home."

Carla is a nanny and often cares for local children at home, meaning extra living space is a real blessing.

The four-bedroom ‘Notley' they have chosen is a beautiful double-fronted design featuring a spacious kitchen with handy utility room, a separate dining room and a large living room with French doors to the rear garden.

Upstairs, the landing leads to a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, three further bedrooms and a family bathroom.

"Just like other buyers who choose a George Wimpey home at our developments in East Anglia, we used the company's easymover programme," adds Simon, who has worked for George Wimpey for eight years.

"Easymover helped us to find a purchaser for our old property, taking away the hassle of arranging the sale ourselves. With the market as it is, the scheme is very useful, and because we were buying brand new, there was no upward chain to worry about."

The Presidents features a range of contemporary two-bedroom apartments and maisonettes starting at £94,995, perfect for those entering the property market. Three-bedroom homes are priced from just £149,995, and the four-bedroom ‘Notley' starts at £194,995.

Each property has allocated parking, a car port or a garage and enjoys a high standard specification, including central heating, double glazing, and fitted kitchen with built-in oven, hob and hood.

Situated in the village of Beck Row, on the edge of the Suffolk town of Mildenhall and the beautiful Fenland countryside, the development enjoys shops and amenities close at hand, including a local pub/restaurant, a post office and mini-market.

Just 20 minutes away are the bustling towns of Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds and Thetford, where a wider range of restaurants, bars, shopping and leisure facilities can be found.

For commuters, the A11 is just a few minutes' drive, providing easy links to Cambridge and Norwich.
