First time buyers get more for their money

First time buyers get more for their money First time buyers Andrew Dewhurst and partner Shaun Robinson couldn’t believe it when they were told that they could afford a four bedroom house instead of the two bedroom apartment they had initially set out to buy. Purchasing a spacious townhouse at Crest Nicholson’s Blakenham Park development in Ipswich, the couple were delighted to make the most of the more affordable prices and offers available.

Having both lived in Ipswich for much of their lives and previously having rented together, Andrew and Shaun felt that it was the right time to buy their first property and began looking at the new build developments in the area. After viewing a range of different properties, it was Crest Nicholson’s Blakenham Park development that caught their eye.

Andrew comments: “We couldn’t believe it when we found out that we were able to purchase a property twice the size that we had initially set out to buy. We had started off looking at the apartments at the Blakenham Park development and by chance happened to have a look around the townhouse. We were really impressed with the quality and design of the property and were thrilled when we found out that we could afford it.”

As well as benefitting from more affordable prices in the market, the couple were able to take advantage of Crest Nicholsons Easybuy scheme. Easybuy allows purchasers to only pay 75% of their mortgage upfront whilst still owning 100% of the property, paying no rent on the further 25% for the first five years. *

Andrew commented: “The Easybuy scheme at Blakenham Park was a huge draw for us and enabled us to buy exactly the type of property we wanted without overstretching our budget. We were so pleased that we waited until now to buy our first home as I’m sure we wouldn’t have been able to buy anything nearly as spacious a year ago.”

Annette Cole, Sales and Marketing Director for Crest Nicholson Eastern agrees: “It is actually a great time for first time buyers to consider purchasing a property with the range of more affordable prices available in the current market. Furthermore, those struggling with mortgages should consider looking at schemes such as EasyBuy as these can help make purchasing a property a much more realistic option. Like Andrew and Shaun, first time buyers should find that they can get a lot more for their money than they might have done previously.”

Crest Nicholson’s development at Blakenham Park comprises one and two bedroom apartments and coach houses, two and three bedroom cottages as well as four bedroom townhouses. The attractive properties have been cleverly arranged in a spacious series of curving crescents and leafy courtyards with communal landscaped squares. The development offers excellent road and rail links via the A14, A12 and direct rail services to London from Ipswich station run every 15 minutes.

Prices at Blakenham Park start at £97,995 for a two bedroom apartment to £179,000 for a four bedroom townhouse. For more information, log on to Crestnicholson.com.
